Lawyer argues pet dog could have transferred alleged serial killer's DNA onto victim's body

A lawyer for an alleged serial killer has told South Australia's Supreme Court that "contaminated" DNA evidence cannot implicate his client beyond reasonable doubt, saying a pet dog could have been responsible for secondary transference.


Steven Leslie Hainsworth is standing trial accused of murdering his neighbour, Phyllis Harrison, 71, his aunt, Beverley Hanley, 64, and Mount Gambier pensioner Stephen Newton, 55, between 1998 and 2011.
